Notes:  We probably would have rated this coin one grade lower because of the discoloration on the horse's legs.  We believe that eye appeal is an issue and this substance really knocks it down in our view.

While an uncirculated coin, there is a flatness to Lee's left leg and the eagle's breast that speaks to an incomplete strike.  At the front of the eagle's beak there is an interesting feature that seems to be lines left over from die creation, polishing, or tiny gouge marks.  There is a small die crack that runs along the top of the eagle's left wing.  We see this crack often and it may speak to a weak point in the design of the die.
