Notes:  This is a coin that we think PCGS had to strain to give it a grade.  The discoloration or toning is so heavy that distinguishing features and strike quality is extremely difficult.

However, there may be a hint on the reverse about the life of this coin.  The clearer band across the surface could very well have come from a holder we have seen where coins were placed on a card and held in place by just such a device.  (See Exonumia at the bottom of the page)

If we consider the red color to be toning then it must be in the second cycle of color and the source would be cardboard.  There might be more than 30 stars visible on the reverse, but if so they are obscured by the heavy toning.  We can verify no die cracks.
