Notes:  This is a coin with a lot of eye appeal and certainly when acquired in March 2018 we think one of our best.  We would not argue with the grade.  But this coin is a great example of just how many issues this series can have and still appear attractive.

The obverse die has been repolished very crudely and this resulted in many visible lines around the devices and in some areas covering large portions of the fields.  The repolishing also softened the stars and weakened their appearance to the right of the devices.

The reverse is a different story.  There is a long die crack that starts at the rim and runs down through the top of the eagle's left wing.  The letters HA of HALF are doubled on the bottom of their respective crossbars.  We are being generous to find 28 remaining stars as many of them are very faint.
